BBC reports a pensioner could be required to sell her house to pay for scooter accident court costs!
An un-insured disabled pensioner has told the BBC that she is on the verge of losing her home because of a mobility scooter accident in a supermarket.
The pensioner had been shopping in a local supermarket when another mobility scooter collided with her resulting in an injury to a staff member. The county court found the pensioner liable and she has been ordered to pay costs and compensation amounting to more than £16,000 but had no insurance to assist with this and so is faced with selling her home to make the payments due.
